Businessman Rezart Taçi sentenced to 11 years in prison

The Criminal Court of Kosovo has found businessman Rezart Taçi guilty of the criminal offense of money laundering, sentencing him to 11 years in prison.

He was also found guilty of participating in a structured criminal group, for which he was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

In consolidating the sentences, the court imposed a final sentence of 11 years in prison.

Taci was found guilty of involvement in an attempt to launder 18.3 million euros of Italian mafia money. The trial against the businessman was initially suspended for a year, after he failed to appear for arrest under a security measure of "prison arrest", issued in absentia against him.

So far, Bledar Lilo and Artur Balla have been sentenced to 6 years and 8 months and 7 years and 4 months of imprisonment, respectively, for this case.
