Israeli opposition leader criticizes Netanyahu: Political catastrophe for Israel
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid has sharply criticized the way Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has handled the war situation, following Netanyahu's statement overnight in support of the ceasefire proposed by US President Donald Trump.
Lapid has called the situation a “political disaster” for Israel. “Israel was not even at the negotiating table when decisions were made related to our national security,” he said.
He added that “the military did everything they asked, the public showed extraordinary resilience, but Netanyahu failed politically, failed strategically and did not fulfill any of the goals he set himself.”
Netanyahu's office announced that the two-week ceasefire would not include Lebanon, although Iran and Pakistan said the agreement would include the country.
