Kraki on Gashi's scandal: Mistakes happen, Gashi remains a serious and useful guy for Kosovo
Nezir Kraku, MP for the Vetëvendosje Movement, has reacted to the Shkëlzen Gashi scandal with the exhibition now withdrawn from the capital.
The exhibition contained incredible data inaccuracies, as well as Serbian narrative. But, for the Vetëendosje MP, "mistakes happen," and "Gashi remains a serious and useful guy for Kosovo."
Full post:
I am against the lynching that is being committed against Shkelzen Gashi because I am convinced that there was nothing intentional in the mistakes that have been made.
I don't know him personally, but from what I've seen, heard, and read, Shkelzen Gashi is not one of those charlatans who present science and history in ridiculous ways.
However, what surprised me was his reasoning when he said that the figures and data came from Natasha Kandic's association.
I was surprised because Shkelzen Gashi himself stated that for his book on the massacres in Kosovo he had researched every detail of each massacre and that it had taken him 4-5 years.
Logically, if you have researched each massacre in detail, it is not clear why it had to be based on data from Serbia? Does that mean that even his research did not allow for the correction of errors?!
However, state institutions, not associations, should deal with the numbers and honor the collective memory of our suffering.
Shkelzen Gashi remains a serious guy and much more useful to Kosovo than some idiots who have nothing to do with science or books. Mistakes happen.
