Mevlan Ademi: There is no state of law without language equality, we are the generation that does not remain silent, does not surrender, the generation that protects and speaks Albanian
One of the organizers, Mevlan Ademi, presented the students' demands to the protesters. He said that this protest should not have happened when and that students should take to the streets in 2026 for their language.
"But here we are. Before we are students, professionals, we are Albanians. And when the language is affected, our very foundation is affected. The Albanian language is the way we live, how we speak and how we got here," Ademi declared.
He said that Albanian is in no way negotiable, and that the law recognizes their right to use their native language, reports Shenja, broadcasts Periscopes.
"This is the minimum basis of dignity, we are not asking for favors, we are asking for equality, we are not against anyone, maybe against Fillkov... We are here for ourselves, for our language, for our future," declared Ademi.
"We are saying, there is no state of law without language equality... we are the generation that does not remain silent, does not surrender, the generation that protects and speaks Albanian," Ademi said, among other things./Periscopes/
