"Respect the Law on Languages", Albanian students in Skopje demand rights
With Albanian flags and banners reading "Stop institutional discrimination," students protested in North Macedonia on Monday, demanding that the bar exam be given in Albanian.
Participants gave speeches, where, among other things, they stated that "the law on languages is clear" while asking institutions to respect it.
“Don't touch the Language Law!” was one of the protest messages, followed by chants for accountability and resignation.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski called on students and participants not to allow themselves, as he put it, “to be a tool in the hands of an opposition political party,” adding that the Government has already formed a group of constitutional experts who are working to find a solution, Skopje1 reported./Periscopes
