Soldiers from Austria, Italy and Romania are trained in explosive ordnance disposal, KFOR provides details

KFOR has announced a joint exercise conducted by soldiers from Austria, Italy and Romania, who are the operators for the disposal of explosive devices.

KFOR announced that the exercise took place in a designated area, in full compliance with established safety and environmental protection procedures.

"This regular activity reflects KFOR's continued commitment to cooperate with local institutions, strengthen partnerships and contribute to a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo," the announcement states, among other things.

NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operators from Austria, Italy and Romania, assigned to the Joint Logistic Support Group (JLSG) and operating under the coordination of the KFOR Headquarters Joint Engineers (HQ J-Eng), conducted a joint training activity with the MAT-Kosovo Training Center (TC) at the Harilaq/Ariljaçë demolition range.

The activity took place in a designated area, in full compliance with established safety and environmental protection procedures.

This regular activity reflects KFOR's continued commitment to cooperate with local institutions, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo.

KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and to freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responders.
