Kosovo Assembly meets on April 2 to review international agreements

The Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo has decided to hold a regular plenary session on Thursday, April 2, at 10:00, following a meeting of the Presidency led by Albulena Haxhiu.

Several important legislative issues are expected to be considered in this session, including seven draft laws for the ratification of international agreements. These include agreements with the European Union for the IPA 2017 and 2018 programs, as well as loan agreements with financial institutions such as the European Investment Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Saudi Fund for Development for projects in energy, infrastructure, and the environment.

Also on the agenda is the formation of several ad-hoc committees for the selection of members of the Independent Media Commission and the board of Radio Television of Kosovo.

Meeting of the Presidency of the Assembly

On Thursday, April 2, at 10:00, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo will convene in a regular plenary session. This was decided by the Presidency of the Assembly at today's meeting, chaired by Speaker Albulena Haxhiu.

This session will address draft laws for the ratification of several international agreements, as well as other important legislative issues.

Thus, after the statements outside the agenda and parliamentary questions, the Assembly will review seven draft laws: Draft law on the ratification of the Agreement on access to higher education and admission to studies in the Western Balkans; Draft law on the ratification of Amendment No. 3 to the Financial Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union for the IPA 2018 Program; Draft law on the ratification of Amendment No. 2 to the Financial Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union for the IPA 2017 Program; Draft law on the ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Investment Bank for the Photovoltaic Solar Energy Project in KEK - Porta Globale; Draft law on the ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo, represented by the Ministry of Finance, Labor and Transfers, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings Project; The Draft Law on the Ratification of the Loan Agreement “Pristina - Mitrovica High Speed ​​​​Road Project” (additional loan) between the Saudi Fund for Development and the Republic of Kosovo; as well as the Draft Law on the Ratification of the Loan Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for the Project “Podujeva Wastewater Treatment Plant”.

The session also includes the formation of an Ad-Hoc Committee for the selection of candidates for one member of the Independent Media Commission; the formation of an Ad-Hoc Committee for the selection of candidates for three members from the Albanian community and two members from non-majority communities in the Independent Media Commission; and the formation of an Ad-Hoc Committee for the selection of candidates for six members from the Albanian community, one member from the Serbian community and one member from non-majority communities in the Board of Radio and Television of Kosovo.

Also on the agenda for this session will be the proposal of the Serbian List Working Group for the appointment of MP Branislav Nikolić to parliamentary committees, the review of the Zubin Potok Municipality Budget for 2026, and the formation of the ad hoc Committee for the drafting of the Draft Law on Suicide Prevention.

At today's meeting, the Presidency also reviewed other issues from the field of activity of the Assembly.
