Resident recounts shocking moments of Zoja Oroshi's murder in Austria: We knew them as good people

A serious incident has shocked Austria on Easter Sunday afternoon, where a 39-year-old woman was found dead in the garden of her home.

According to Austrian media reports, the victim is Zoja Oroshi, originally from Gjakova, who lived in Baden. It is suspected that she suffered wounds from both a sharp instrument and a firearm.

In connection with the case, her ex-husband, 47, has been arrested as the main suspect and is currently in custody. The couple reportedly had four children and had previously had family conflicts, while the motive for the crime remains unclear. Investigations are ongoing.

A resident of the area, a witness to the developments after the event, recounted to the media the first moments after the incident.

"It was a normal evening for me and I saw a large number of police officers from a distance. Then many neighbors gathered and we realized that a woman, the mother of the children, had been killed a few meters away," she stated.

Asked if she knew the couple, she added that their children often played together and that the family seemed orderly, which has made the event even more shocking for the community.

The resident stressed that the case has severely affected the entire area: "I am shocked, I haven't slept all night thinking about what the children are going through now. This event affects everyone in the village."
