OVL-UCK responds to the Specialized Chambers regarding the Assembly Resolution

The KLA War Veterans Organization has reacted to the response that the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague have made to the Assembly Resolution on former KLA leaders.

This organization says that the DSK's response cannot be treated as a mere formal act.

"The reduction of this resolution to an administrative notice, without any visible reflection on the content, constitutes an unacceptable approach towards the institution that itself established this court."

"We recall that the Specialist Chambers stem from the decision-making of the Assembly of Kosovo and, as such, cannot behave as if they are detached from its political and sovereign will. A response that essentially translates as 'we are aware of it, but we act according to our own will' is not only disappointing, but also harmful to faith in justice," said OVL-UCK.

The War Veterans Organization said the KLA waged a just and necessary fight for freedom, and stressed that its leaders deserve treatment with full dignity and equality.

"Any process that ignores this reality and continues to burden Kosovo unjustly serves neither justice nor peace," it said in this reaction.

OVL UÇK requested that the Assembly Resolution be treated with full seriousness and reflected in concrete decision-making.

"Respecting the sovereignty and institutions of Kosovo is not an option, but an obligation," concluded OVL-UCK.

According to an official communication published by Nacionale, Trendafilova confirmed the acceptance of the Resolution but nothing more, emphasizing that the Chambers' legislation guarantees a fair trial and judicial independence.

"I hereby acknowledge receipt of Resolution No. 10-R-001, adopted on 12 February 2026, relating to judicial proceedings before the Specialist Chambers. The legal framework governing the Specialist Chambers, as adopted by the Assembly of Kosovo, includes internationally recognized fair trial standards and strong guarantees of judicial independence," Trendafilova's announcement states.
