Mjëra njerëz kanë mbetur të bllokuar në çatitë e tyre në Houston e përmbytur nga uji dhe, ata dëshpërimisht po kërkojnë ndihmë pasi uragani Harvey kishte shkatërruar shtëpitë e tyre.

Shumë banorë u janë kthyer mediave sociale me kërkesa për ndihmë, pasi departamenti i policisë së Hjustonit ka kërkuar nga civilët me anije që të bashkohen me ta dhe të ndihmojnë me më shumë se 6,000 thirrje për shpëtim që janë regjistruar përmes rrjeteve sociale.

Njerëzit të prekur nga kjo fatkeqësi e përdoren Facebook për të postuar fotografi të situatave të tyre të tmerrshme dhe për të ndarë vendndodhjen e tyre me shpresën se do të shihte dikush për t’iu ndihmuar.

Mijëra njerëz u evakuan pasi përmbytjet përmbytën pjesë të rajonit, duke bërë që Dallas të njoftojë se ka për qëllim të hapë një mega-strehim për 5,000 të shpërngulur deri të martën në mëngjes.

Departamenti i Zjarrit i Houston tha se një njeri vdiq në ujërat e përmbytjeve gjatë natës të shtunën deri të dielën.
